Fave Finds is Erica OBrien Cake Design’s weekly(ish) list of the products, gizmos, gadgets, tools and must-haves we’re wanting, needing, buying or using right now.

1. Super cute notecards. I use patterned papers and notecards for lots of things, especially for my business.  They’re great for styling product photos and for creating bunting backdrops. Oh yeah, and they’re also good for writing notes. Here are a few ways I’ve used them recently.

Gold dipped cookies on patterned paper.

Notecards strung as bunting for a 50th anniversary.

2. Adorable Bake Me A Cake Apron for kids by Williams Sonoma. In an ideal world, my kids would have their own bathroom and each have a backpack with their name embroidered on it. They would have rain boots with matching umbrellas. And when we bake, they would wear cute aprons and I wouldn’t end up screaming at them for getting flour everywhere.

3. Pier 1 Imports Fiona Pressed Glass Cake Stand.  Styled after vintage depression glass stands, this 10″ stand is sure to be a classic.

4. The perfect baby mold. Great for decor on cookies, cakes, and other confections. We used the baby feet on the top tier here. They’re perfectly adorable and just the right size.

5. The ideal ruler. We use rulers a lot at the shop, and I guess we’re pretty rough on them because you can’t see the numbers on most of them. The Yoobi ruler’s numbers are transpartent, so they won’t rub off. At .32″ thick, it provides a nice, solid edge for cutting. And best of all,  for every Yoobi item you buy, Yoobi will donate another item to a classroom in need right here in the USA.

Enjoy!
